MENTOR Nebraska is the unifying champion for quality youth mentoring in Nebraska. We lead the mentoring movement by supporting and collaborating with mentoring programs across Nebraska.
HOW WE USE YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS:
- $50 pays for a background check for one potential mentor.
- $250 pays for three months of data collection software for a partner mentoring program.
- $500 provides a scholarship for one partner program employee to attend the National Mentoring Summit.
- $1,000 sponsors a training for youth-serving professionals.
A STORY FROM OUR AGENCY:
MENTOR Nebraska's work is research-based with the ultimate vision to bring about systemic changes that will allow mentoring programs to serve more youth with higher quality services. We achieve this through our advocacy efforts, collecting and analyzing data, training mentors and mentoring professionals, and providing no-cost consultation to youth mentoring programs.
Karmen Thompson, Executive Director of Big Pals-Little Pal of Greater Columbus, says MENTOR Nebraska has helped her mentoring program in numerous ways. “MENTOR Nebraska has been a wonderful tool for Big Pals-Little Pals," said Karmen. "Because of our partnership with MENTOR Nebraska, we have implemented the Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring. This has helped us build a strong foundation for our program and helped us implement new practices that ensure that our mentees are safe and receiving the maximum benefit from our program. MENTOR Nebraska offers us amazing training opportunities and provides a collaborative space for me to network with directors of mentoring programs across the state which has been invaluable to me in many ways but especially in directing our program during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
