We empower individuals living with mental health and substance use challenges to reach their fullest potential. We cultivate communities through training, education and support.
HOW WE USE YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS:
- $10 provides recovery resources for 1 participant.
- $25 provides 1 hour of 1-on-1 peer support.
- $50 helps provide a support group for up to 20 individuals.
- $100 provides a yoga class offering for the recovery community.
- $500 provides a peer support training certification.
- $1,000 provides recovery support for up to 50 individuals in county jail.
A STORY FROM OUR AGENCY:
"My mental health struggles led me to a number of places for care. Often times, out-of-state places that still offered help, clinical support, and residential treatment, but only in a temporary and expensive fashion. However, none of those stops brought me to the lasting connections and pathways to wellness that I found in Lincoln, Nebraska at Wellbeing Initiative, Inc.
During attempts to re-address my own personal mental health journey head-on, I quickly realized that financially, there were no options near me that provided the necessary support I needed. What I needed was care that put me consistently in rooms with peers who had experienced similar struggles - yet they'd lived to tell.
That's how I found Wellbeing Initiative.
The year was 2020, and I was searching for something more. Something more enduring. Something that would last. And mostly, I was looking for a place that "met me where I was" on my journey. The peer support and programming provided by Wellbeing Initiative gave me the "more" I was needing. They were the first attempt at healing that put the planning, the peace, and architecture in my own hands...yet they were always still there to talk, to engage, and to inspire.
Wellbeing Initiative taught me how to rediscover my creative side again. How to laugh. How to hug. How to find my true self.
