Adding a Social Component to Employee Giving

Give Nebraska has been supporting employee choice in giving for over 40 years! We’ve learned a thing or two about employee engagement and how to build excitement around your corporate social responsibility efforts!

The example from America’s Charities recent” Snapshot: What U.S. Employees Think About Workplace Giving, Volunteering, and CSR” highlighted one company that launched an employee giving campaign. In the first year of the program, more than one in five workers participate. The following year, the same company expanded on the program by including social components like a kick-off party/meeting and happy hour with executive bartenders. With these additions, over half of all employees contributed to the campaign AND the average contribution per employee more than tripled from $55 to $175! How’s that for engagement?

At Give Nebraska, we encourage these social opportunities to connect employees with each other, with the nonprofits in their community, and especially with the nonprofits that have helped employees, their families, friends, coworkers, and neighbors.
